Pin-up girl inspired make-up look

Hey!

Pin-up girls are widely known as glamour, fashion models or actresses. Then I think of a pin-up girl, Marilyn Monroe is the first name I think of.

Perfected skin, black eyeliner and red lips.

The look was inspired by the amazing MUA Lisa Eldridge.

I love wearing red lipstick, but it's definitely not my everyday lip color.  I also think, it attracts a ton of attention to your face, so it only makes sense that pin-up girls always had/has this perfect looking skin with no blemishes or dark spots!

Face:

  1. To get as much coverage as possible, I used Revlon's Colorstay foundation
  2. To hide my under eye dark circles, I used a shade lighter concealer. This way we not only hide our darkness but also highlight the area. 2-in-1!
  3. Hide any blemishes or dark spots with concealer that actually matches your foundation.
  4. Apply powder to set your concealers and foundation if needed. My favorite at the moment that actually provides some coverage too is NYX's Stay Matte But Not Flat Powder Foundation.
  5. Use some bronzer on the outer part of your face to warm up you skin. Do not over-do it, for this look you want to keep your face as bright looking as possible.
  6. Use pink matte blush on the apples of your cheeks bringing it up to the temples. I used ELF's Studio Blush in Pink Passion.

Eyes:
  1. Prime your eyelids, I like using Too Faced Shadow Insurance.
  2. Define your brows. This is an important step. I used ELF Eyebrow Kit.
  3. Take a tapered blending brush and apply a matte light brown eye shadow in your crease.
  4. Using a matte cream colored eye shadow apply it on your inner corner and bring it out on your eyelid a little bit. Also use the same color under your brows to make them looks even more defined.
  5. Use cream or gel black eyeliner and apply it on your upper lash line all the way from the inner part to the outer. Make it a little bit thicker at the outer part. You can also wing it out slightly.
  6. Tight line your upper rim with a black waterproof pencil. I used Rimmel's Scandaleyes in Black. Also, to make your eyes look brighter, apply a white/nude pencil in your waterline.
  7. Take a black eye pencil and apply it lightly on the outer part of your lower lash line.
  8. Apply a few coats of black mascara, if needed, you can even use some false eyelashes.
This looks like a lot of steps, but it's actually very quick and easy to do!

Lips:

  1. An important step - line your lips with a red lip liner, so your lipstick does not bleed out.
  2. Apply a coat of red lipstick, I used Loreal's Colour Riche in True Red. Blot it slightly with a tissue - that will make the lipstick stay longer.
  3. Apply a second coat of red lipstick. You can totally use the same you used before, but I wanted to try mixing the lipstick, so I applied Covergirl's lipstick in Flame (the famous Taylor Swift's lipstick color!)

And that's it, you have this glamorous look! Inspired by the amazing pin-up girls!

Let me know what occasion you would wear this look for? Or maybe it's an everyday kind of look for you?

FOTD + Tutorial: Smokey Green Eye

Hi!

Today I wanted to go with something smokey, but not too dramatic, meaning it's still wearable. And it goes with the fall theme I have going on at the moment.

I was trying to focus the whole look about the eyes, so I will not write much about the face make up. It's just everyday face make up look that you can find in any of my previous posts.

Left: Wet n Wild palette in Nude Awakening|Right: Wet n Wild palette in Comfort Zone

Left: with flash | Right: no flash
Left: with flash | Right: no flash, it's a little bit out of focus, sorry!
EYES:
1. Prime your eyes, I used Milani Eyeshadow Primer
2. To get the straight harsh line on the outer corner, use some tape
3. Apply shimmery green eye shadow (1) all over the lid
4. Apply dark brown (2) color on the outer corner, cut in the crease, blend it well bringing it inwards
5. Apply matter brown (3) color in the crease and blend the dark brown shadow with it
6. Apply black liner on the outer part of the lash line and green liner on the inner part, I used Catrice's gel liner in Black and Wet n Wild  Coloricon pencil in Green
7. Remove the tape, now you have a clean line, to make it look softer I applied the green eye shadow (1) along the line
8. Use the same dark brown (2) on the outer part of the lower lash line, and the green shadow (1) on the inner part of the lower lash line connecting it to the dark brown (2)
9. Apply black mascara on your lashes and I also applied a little bit of a green colored mascara on the upper lashes, I used Maybelline's The Rocket and Great Lash in Green with Envy
10. Apply matte cream color (4) on your brow bone to highlight the area

and you're done!

For the lip color I used Wet n Wild lipstickj in Bare it All and Revlon colorburst nude lipgloss.

I think this is a great look for going out somewhere at night time or if you love makeup, it can definitely rock this eye look at daytime too! I would :)

Tell me your thoughts, please!

FOTD + Tutorial: fall inspired

Hi guys!

I got a lot of requests to do more make-up looks with Lorac PRO palette and I thought why not?! I love that palette a lot, and I use it more than any other palette I own. So today I'm doing a make-up look that reminds me of fall time! It's a little bit golden, bronzy and a tiny bit smoky. This time I'm showing you my bare face (so you can see the difference), then I'll give you an option of the look with the bright lipstick and a nude one too, whichever you like more! Please click on the pictures to enlarge them if you'd like! As usual, I did not edit any of the pictures.

Face: I didn't feel like foundation, so I just used the Loreal BB cream all over my face blending it in with my fingers. I used some Almay concealer on my spots and acne scarring, and Loreal True Match Crayon and Maybelline Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles concealers for some brightness under my eyes. Then I used some Too Faces Chocolate Soleil bronzer on the outer part of me face and Rimmel Stay Matte powder on my t-zone. To add some color back to my face, I used NYX blush in Amber which reminds me of fall so much!

Eyes: to prime my eyes, I first applied some Wet n Wild eye shadow primer, then filled in my brows with my favorite ELF brow kit and set them with ELF lash&brow clear mascara. Then from the Lorac PRO palette I took Gold (1) color all over my lid, on the outer part of the lid take coppery Garnet (2) color. To deepen up the look, take dark matte brown Espresso (3) on the outer V and blend it in well.  Take light matte Taupe (4) color and blend it in you crease. Using matte reddish brown Sable (5) color put it under your lower lashline to smoke out the look even more. Taking light matte Cream (6) color highlight browbone and inner corner. Then I used Rimmel black eyeliner on the upper lashline mostly focusing on the outer part of it. Make sure to get between the lashes. The I used some Elf Bronze eyeliner on the inner lower lashline (connecting it to the Sable color we used on the outer part). To finish of the look, use some mascara on your lashes, I used Covergirl lashblast.

Lips: for the bright berry lip, I used Revlon Lip Butter in Raspberry Pie and topped it off with Rimmel Stay Glossy lip gloss in Immortal Charm. For the nude lip, I used Covergirl lipstick in Delish and topped it off with the same Rimmer lip gloss.

So that's the look for today! I definitely think it's a great fall time look!

Tutorial: dramatic night time eye look

Tonight I was trying to create something bold but still wearable. I would recommend this look for clubbing or any special occasion. I mostly used drugstore product for this one! I am not exactly sure why the lightening is different in the pictures... I also did not use any makeup for my face - so excuse my dark under eyes!

before
after
Firstly, I applied some eye shadow primer - I used Too Faces Shadow Insurance. If you'd like to go completely drugstore, I would recommend using Milani Eyeshadow Primer, it reminds me of the Too Faced one by texture and keeps the shadow in place just as well. Then I groomed and filled in my eyebrows using my favorite ELF Brow Kit. Then take any shimmery cream colored shadow (I took Loreal Infallible Eyeshadow in Iced Latte - great staying power!) and apply it all over you lid, bringing it up to the crease. Take any matte brown color on a blending brush, and lightly blend it in your crease (Wet N Wild palette in Nude Awakening - the left crease color). Take a shimmery darker brown and put it lightly on you outer V blending it up into the crease (same palette - the right eyelid color). Then take any dark grey color (same palette - right crease color) and draw it from your outer corner up to your crease towards your eyebrow, and then continue it inwards your crease 1/3 of the way to the inner corner. Lightly blend it out, but keep it a little visible. Then take any gel or cream eyeliner (Catrice gel liner) and draw a line as thick as you want defining your upper lash line (make the so-called cat eye!) and use a waterproof black eye pencil (Rimmel Kohl eye pencil) to define the lower one. Be bold and draw a thick line and smoke it out a little bit using a smugde brush or any q-tip, for example, works just as well. The key for lower lash line is to not make the line thicker than your lower lashes can reach. To make this look even more dramatic, apply some long false eyelashes! To blend it with your lashes, apply some mascara, I used Maybelline Big Eyes.

My August 2013 favorites!

Hey guys!

Can't believe August is over! Went by so quickly! Today I'll show you my favorite products for the month of August - and will review them briefly.

1. Maybelline Expert Eyes Moisturising Eye Makeup Remover - this is for waterproof makeup and I like it a lot. It's so much easier to remove any kind of mascara and it does not burn your eyes at all.
2. Lorac PRO palette - this is such a versatile eyeshadow palette, it has 8 matte and 8 shimmery eyeshadows and not all of them are neutral - for example, you have a burgundy and purple colors. The shadow quality it amazing, they are super soft ant have a buttery feel to them. The do have some fallout just because they are that pigmented, but if you tap the brush off before applying, which I always do, you'll have no problem at all.
3. Almay Clear Complexion Concealer + Treatment gel - this gives great coverage and is an exact match to my skintone at the moment. I mostly use the concealer part, which has 0,6% Salicylic Acid, which is great if you use the concealer over any spots you might have. The treatment gel has 1,08% Salicylic Acid.
4. Covergirl Outlast 3in1 foundation - love this for its staying power and it matches my skintone at the moment pretty well too. It's medium coverage which I really like and it has SPF. Great packaging too - love the pump!
5. Rimmel Stay Matte powder - keeps me matte for longer than any powder I own at the moment! Great for touch-ups.
6. NYX blush in Amber - love the color, it's so pretty and gives the cheeks a nice healthy flush of color! Been using this religiously for the month of August. Not going to lie - I'm ready to move on onto something else now, haha! Still love it, though.
7. Clean&Clear dual action moisturizer - I use this every single day and it's a great favorite of mine - I even have a backup waiting for me once I finish this bottle, haha! It's oil-free and has again, Salicylic Acid in it so it helps to prevent any blemishes and it moisturizes at the same time! Great stuff!
8. EOS lipbalm - all time favorite lipbalm, keeps my lips moisturized! And I love the strawberry smell in this one!
9. Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque - it's gentle enough so I can use it every day! Love how clean my skin feels after using it, and I do believe it helps with my needy skin to keel it clear.
10. Maybelline The Rocket Mascara - been using this one a lot this month, love the formula, it makes my lashes looking longer and thicker than they are! I'm using a non-waterproof version and it does not smudge even on a hot, humid day.
11. Maybelline The Falsies Mascara - what can I say, I love my Maybelline mascaras! This one is great for curling my lashes and making them very thick! Definitely has the Falsies effect on me. I love layering it with The Rocket mascara too!
12. Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze - I believe it's now called something different, but love this color on green eyes! It has great staying power and the color is pretty. It also makes a great base for any shadow I have.
13. Catrice Gel Eyeliner in Black Jack with Jack Black - what a name for a simple black gel eyeliner... I bought it this month and it became a great favorite of mine - whenever I'm using gel eyeliner I'll go with this now even though I own more! Stays well, is pretty rich in color and did not dry yet! Plus, it's very affordable!
14-15. Rimmel Scandaleyes pencils in Black and in Nude - love these two! They are waterproof so I mostly use them in my tight line and waterline. It's creamy and well pigmented!

So these are my favorite products of the month! It wasn't that hard to decide - I used these a lot in the month of August. What are your favorites? Would love to know!

FOTD + Tutorial: everyday neutral eye look!

Today my make-up is simple and I love it. I think it's a great back to school make-up look too! Please make sure to click on the pictures to enlarge them and have a better look at the makeup.

Face: These two steps are optional, but I first used my Victoria's Secret Make-up Primer And Setting Spray - a few sprays all over my face and I applied a few pumps of Victoria's Secret VS PRO Airbrush FX Anti-Red Correcting Primer. Then, use your foundation, I used Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous 3in1 foundation and applied it with my Expert face brush by Real Techniques. This foundation has SPF so it's not the best for taking picture with flash as you can see in the pictures I took:) To cover your under-eye dark circles if you're not getting enough sleep, use your concealer. It gives the best results if concealer is one shade lighter than your foundation. Dab it lightly under your eyes with your ring finger or use a brush. I used Loreal True Match Crayon Concealer  and after that, I also used some Maybelline Age Rewind brightening concealer to make sure it's nice and bright under there:) Set your concealer with any powder so it does not crease! I used my ELF Studio High Definition powder. Then to set my foundation all over my face I use NYX Stay Matter But Not Flat foundation powder so it gives me even more coverage without looking cakey and I used some Rimmel Stay Matte powder on my t-zone. I contoured a little with my W7 Honolulu bronzer and for my blush I used W7 Africa powder. Down the bridge of my nose and on the top of my cheekbones I used some W7 Candy Floss powder to give me a healthy glow. To get rid of the powdery feel and set my makeup I used the same VS Primer and Setting Spray.

before
after
Eyes: First I applied my Milani Eyeshadow Primer and then while waiting for it to dry I combed through and filled in my brows a little bit using my ELF Eyebrow Kit and to set them use any kind of eyebrow gel - clear mascara works well too! All of the shadows I used to create this look were from Lorac PRO palette, but I'll describe the shadows so you can use any you have. Firstly, take matte light brown color (in Lorac PRO: Taupe) and put it in your crease blending it well. Then take a shimmery champagne color (Champagne) and apply it all over your lid. Going back into your matte brown color (Taupe) make the line between the champagne and crease colors seemless. Then to make your eyes look even more awake, take a little bit of shimmery nude color (Nude) and apply it on the center of your lid. After that, take any matte deep brown color (Sable) on a small pencil brush and apply it on your outer V blending it well. Take the same color and apply it lightly under your lower lash line. Finally, take any matte cream color (Cream) and apply on your brow bone, underneath your brow and in your inner corner to highlight those areas. The key is to blend everything well so you cannot see any harsh lines. Take any waterproof nude or white pencil, I used Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof eyeliner and line your waterline to make your eyes look even bigger. Apply a few coats of mascara, I used Maybelline The Falsies and your done with your eye makeup! I know this looks like a lot of steps, but once you get the hang of it, it literally takes less than 10 minutes!

Lips: I wanted to keep this look simple and fresh so I just used some Maybelline Baby Lips Electro in Strike a Rose. Just use any kind of tinted lip balm to give your lips a nice pop of color and you're good to go!

all the products that I used

Hope you enjoy the look! Let me know what you think!
